parenting podcast strategy Mar 17, 2020

Hello lovely parents! I’m so happy that you’re here joining me on The Parenting Clubhouse Podcast. Today, let’s chat about helping yourself FIRST in this parent-child dynamic, shall we? As parents, it is so EASY for us to put ourselves last – myself definitely included here and I’ll tell you how – but today I’m going to argue that we NEED to put ourselves first… and when we do, it not only helps us, it also serves our kids in a BIG way!

As a reminder, our Regain Control giveaway has ended and I’ll be announcing the three lucky winners on next week’s episode and via email… so stay tuned! Be sure to check out my Regain Control course at

Alright, let’s get to it! Let’s go to the show!

As parents, we tend to put ourselves last and our children first. But we need to put ourselves first to feel confident and empowered in our parenting. And this is important because when we feel confident and empowered in our parenting, we show up differently for our kids.

But how do we get to those feelings of confidence and empowerment?

Strategy is not throwing tactics at our kids and seeing what will stick. It’s not a guessing game. Strategy is all about using techniques that work and that are known to work (hello science of behavior).

And strategy doesn’t have to be hard. It can be really, really easy… like the 3 hacks that I outline in my freebie: 3 Easy Parenting Hacks. You can download those 3 hacks now at

Strategy can also be easy, intentional, and specific. That’s why I created my Regain Control of Your Child’s Behavior course, so you can have specific strategies ready at your fingertips to help you gain that confidence and empowerment that you're looking for in your parenting. Check out the course at or

Ultimately, strategy helps us feel confident and empowered because the strategy gives us a game plan, it gives us structure, it gives us the know-how, it’s our backbone to parenting. But also, when we use specific techniques that are known to work, our kids behave better which only helps us feel confident and helps us continue to use those same strategies to get those same results (hey, hey improved behavior) that we want!

So put on your strategy oxygen mask first because we need to feel confident and empowered in our parenting. And remember, the way we can feel confident and empowered in our parenting is by the strategies that we are using.
