Boy, are you in for a treat today! I’ve had guests on the show before but it’s been quite a while since I’ve had another. Today on the show we are talking about the potty training method I used to potty train my almost two-and-a-half year-old son, but I didn’t potty train alone. My husband, Michael, was a big help and helped out with potty training on the weekends and when he wasn’t at work. So, of course, the guest on the show today is no one other than my husband, Michael.
For those of you who know me and my husband, you’re probably laughing because you know that with both of us on the show, this is going to be a pretty interesting episode. And for those of you who don’t know Michael, you will very quickly learn that Michael is a jokester, the sarcastic one, and the funny guy, while I lean more on the serious side of things…. Which you have probably already figured out. But the reason I’m having Michael on the show is because I wanted him to share his perspective on the potty training method we used, which is the exact potty training method that I go through step-by-step in my Potty Training Made Easy course (which you can find at www.bit.ly/pottytrainingmadeeasy). And the reason why I wanted him to share his perspective of our journey is because, while I can talk all day and every day about potty training as a parent coach, a mama, and a behavior analyst, I wanted you all to hear the thoughts, feelings, and opinions about potty training from a dad, from someone who knew nothing about potty training prior to the day we started potty training John Paul, and really, a lay person in the behavior world.
But before we dive in and I let Michael introduce himself, I want you to know that in the month of October, I am giving away 5 free 25-min potty training success assessment calls to determine if your child is actually READY to be potty trained. This idea of your child being READY for potty training is really the very first point of stress for all parents who are about to begin potty training because, who wants to jump into potty training if your kid isn’t actually ready. Me…. no thanks! So in the call we’ll talk about the signs of readiness and evaluate if your kiddo is ready for potty training. It’ll be fun, it’ll be easy, and it’ll give you an extra bit of support before you actually jump into potty training. Go sign up for your free spot at www.bit.ly/ptsuccesscall.
In the show Michael shares his perspective on the potty training method that we used, what was difficult, what was surprising, and the value he saw in it.
And I, of course, share the nuts and bolts of what our potty training journey looked like, how you can work with me one-on-one (www.bit.ly/workwithlauralynn), and the personal value I see in using this potty training method.
