Hey, hey! I’m so glad that you are back for another episode on The Parenting Clubhouse Podcast! And if this is your very first episode, welcome! I am so happy to have you! If you’ve caught the last two episodes you know that we’ve been talking about setting parenting goals. In today’s episode I’m kind of piggybacking off of the idea of setting those parenting goals by talking about going ALL IN with your parenting. If you know me or you feel like you know me pretty well from the podcast or from social media or from receiving my weekly emails, you know that I don’t do anything half-way. I just don’t. I hate it. And this is in parenthood, in business life, and in my personal life. It’s like I can’t do anything half-way. If I know I can’t give something my full effort, then I just won’t do it. Plain and simple. Why? Because I honestly don’t want to bother wasting my time doing something that I’m only going to do half-way, because I know what the outcome will be for me IF I do something only half-way: I may give up. I may quit. I may get so utterly frustrated that I’m not in it 100%. I likely won’t see the results that I want to see if I’m lackadaisical about it. To me, it’s a waste of time. And it’s one of the reasons why I haven’t potty trained my son yet (it’ll actually be coming soon!) – because I wasn’t ready yet and I didn’t want to do it half-way. So, in this episode, we are lunging into why going ALL IN your parenting will help you live your BEST parenting life. I’m an “ALL IN” kind of girl and there’s a reason for it!
And in the show I’ll be mentioning my Regain Control course – your go-to course for the positive parenting strategies that I swear by – you can check it out at www.bit.ly/regaincontrolnow.
Alright, let’s jump to it! Let’s go to the show!
I really want to break down what going “all in” actually is and then discuss why we sometimes don’t go “all in” (because that is important).
Going “all in” is all about making a decision that “this” is how things are going to go and then doing what you need to do to help you accomplish whatever you are going “all in” for. It’s about finding an area in your life, in your parenting, in your home life, at your job, or any other situation that needs improvements and acknowledging that changes can be made to have that area be more positive for you.
It’s not going from 0 to 100, throwing everything you have at a problem willy-nilly. It’s about stepping up, stepping past fear, and taking one step at a time to accomplish a goal or make a change.
For example, if you want to ditch the yelling, you can decide that something is going to change, working on providing more praise, learning all the tools you need to help you actually ditch the yelling (like in my Regain Control course at www.bit.ly/regaincontrolnow), and then continually working on it and taking steps forward.
It’s not about being perfect. It’s about moving forward.
But there are reasons why you may not go “all in,” and these reasons are holding you back from
Living your best parenting life. Fear, not being prepared, and not feeling motivated are just a few reasons that can hold you back.
When you do go “all in,” when you step up and step out, you show up differently. This is how you get to living your best parenting life. When you decide to make a change and then take that first step, that is the beginning of you going “all in.”
And the more you do this, the more you take those steps and go “all in” in small ways, you’ll need be able to go “all in” in even bigger ways. And soon you find yourself creating the best life for you.
It is possible for you to live your best parenting life. It’s a matter of going all in by taking one small step at a time. Making the decision to make a change and then taking action to begin that change, even gradually, slowly.
If your best parenting life includes getting rid of the yelling and interacting with your kids more positively, my Regain Control course is for you: www.bit.ly/regaincontrolnow.
Overcome the fear, take action, take those steps, and you’ll be living the best parenting life for you!
